Cue Browser Extension
Fills codes from Cue for Mac straight into the code fields of web pages in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi, Arc and Firefox. Safari doesn't need it: Safari uses Cue's AutoFill.
Cue Browser Extension
macOS 15 or later · needs Cue for Mac · filling codes is part of Cue Pro
The extension is on its way to the browsers' stores. Until then, download it and install it by hand as described below.
Install in Chrome, Edge, Brave, Vivaldi or Arc
- Download and unzip it to get a folder named "Cue". Keep it somewhere it won't be deleted (Documents, for example): the browser loads the extension from it every time.
- Open
chrome://extensions(edge://extensionsin Edge), turn on Developer mode, click Load unpacked and choose the "Cue" folder. - In Cue, turn on Browser Integration and Trust Manually Loaded Extension under Settings > Browser.
Trust Manually Loaded Extension is only for the time before the store listings: a manually loaded extension uses a public development key, so Cue doesn't trust it by default. Once it is in the stores, install it from there and leave the switch off.
Install in Firefox
- Download and unzip it to get the "Cue" folder.
- Open
about:debugging, choose This Firefox, click Load Temporary Add-on and pickmanifest.jsonin the folder. - In Cue, turn on Browser Integration under Settings > Browser.
Firefox removes temporary add-ons when it quits, so load it again next time; that limit goes away once it is listed on Firefox Add-ons.
Use
On a page that asks for a two-factor code, a small Cue icon appears at the right of the code field: click it, or press ⌘⇧U, and after Touch ID Cue fills in the code for that site. When a site has several entries, click the Cue icon in the browser's toolbar and pick one from the list.
It fills https pages only. Every code asks for Touch ID, and the prompt names the site and the entry.
What it sees
The extension hands only the current page's domain to Cue on this Mac, then types the digits Cue gives back into the field. It reads nothing else of the page, has no network access, and never sees your vault or secrets. Cue accepts signed connections only. See the privacy policy.
To type codes into Mac apps (Terminal, VPN clients, login windows) with one key, see the Cue Input Helper.
